Northam is a small town in the North West Province of South Africa. It is about 50km from Thabazimbi and it is close to Sun City, Pilanesburg Park and the Marakele National Park.

Northam was proclaimed in 1946 on a farm called Leeukoppie. The farms on which the town is located used to belong to British soldiers that took part in the Angle Boer War. The Northam district is known for its chrome and platinum mines.

There are quite a few game lodges in this area. Activities and attractions in this area includes: bow or rifle hunting, hiking, mountain biking, bird and game watching, visiting the Marakele National Park.
