During whale season the Southern Right whales swim through False Bay on their way to the Antarctic. From the luxury of the lounge, dining room, terrace, pool area and all four sea facing bedrooms you can watch them breach, lob, spray and play. You have no better view!

Begin your explorations with a two minute stroll to “Jagers Walk”, leading down to Fish Hoek, home to one of Cape Town’s most beautiful swimming beaches. “Peers Cave”, an archaeological site of our stone age ancestors some 12000 years ago, lies across the valley. The suburb of Clovelly just five minutes drive away hosts an 18 hole / par 72 golf course.

South of Oceans Echo lies Simonstown, a naval base and historical seaside village offering boat trips and kayaking into Echo Bay, and home to the famous “Boulders” penguin colony and beach.

Continuing clockwise around the Cape Peninsula you will encounter the 7800ha Cape Point Nature Reserve within fifteen minutes drive. It offers a collection of indigenous game and birds, picnic and braai locations, hiking trails and “baboon walks” in the veld, and sea views from the very tip of the Peninsula.

The coastal route will lead you to the western side of the Peninsula and the seaside villages of Scarborough, Misty Cliffs, Kommetjie and Noordhoek, the former two famous for their board surfing and wide beaches. Noordhoek lies at the southern end of the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive and is home to the Noordhoek Farm Village with its superb restaurants in a tranquil country setting.

Cross the Ou Kaapse Weg (Old Cape Road) pass and one is in the Constantia Winelands, with the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens just another ten minutes away.

Ten minutes north of Oceans Echo you will find the historic fishing village of Kalk Bay filled with antique shops, art galleries, café’s, bars, and restaurants, not to mention the fascinating harbour!
