Umnenge Lodge is a modern family friendly guest house, newly built and luxuriously decorated with African inspirations. Umnenge is situated above the cliffs of De Kelders near Gansbaai a beautiful fishing village and about 30 minutes from Hermanus.

"Umnenge " is a Xhosa expression meaning ' whale ' and refers to the Southern Right whales which can be seen clearly from Umnenge Lodge guest rooms frolicking in the waters of Walker Bay a marine reserve.

On the doorstep of Umnenge is the Walker bay Nature Reserve, with hiking trails and fynbos even natural caves and beautiful unspoilt beaches to choose from. There is nothing better then to sit and relax on your patio with a glass of Cape wine and listening to the whales.
